Ensemble 1756 & solo clarinet

Marius Birtea, clarinet

The Ensemble 1756, founded in Salzburg, brings together musicians who received much of their training at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg and who perform today in renowned orchestras and ensembles. The ensemble appears in flexible formations ranging from trio to chamber orchestra, combining refined chamber music artistry with a vibrant ensemble spirit. The concert is dedicated to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and invites the audience on a sonorous journey through different facets of his work—from the youthful lightness of his Salzburg years to the expressive depth of his later masterpieces. At the heart of the program stands the famous Clarinet Concerto, a work of warmth, elegance, and lyrical beauty that remains one of the most beloved compositions in the clarinet repertoire.
